Cardiac repair and regeneration

Welcome to the Deb Laboratory in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Our laboratory investigates molecular mechanisms driving heart repair after acute and chronic injury and studies the interface of scar forming cells (fibroblasts) and cardiac progenitors in regulating an injury response. The goal of our research is to enhance heart repair and regeneration after heart attacks. We adopt genetic, pharmacologic and physiologic approaches and use murine models as well as human tissue to address our questions. Our goal is to identify novel therapeutic approaches for cardiac repair.
